A Promise From Psalm 106
Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Psalm 106:1
The first and foremost thing that we have to be thankful for is the steadfast love of God. His love never fails. No matter your circumstances, your family relationships, your financial situation, God’s love never fails. That’s a promise that you can be thankful for.
A Promise of Peace from Philippians 4
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
Peace can so often be hard to find when circumstances are hard. But God promises that if we will trust Him and not worry, we will experience His peace. What do you need to give to God today? How can you thank God in the midst of your situation? Let God’s peace guard your heart and mind.
A Promise of Provision From 2 Corinthians
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
2 Corinthians 9:10-11
It’s pretty easy to see that we can’t do anything to make a plant grow. We put seed in soil, make sure it gets sun and water, maybe some fertilizer every now and then, but it’s God who causes the growth. God promises to give the growth. And when we see God’s abundant provision, we give thanks. Where can you see God’s abundant provision in your life? Think outside the box. Let your thanksgiving flow out in praise to God.
A Promise of Protection From Psalm 28
The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
Psalm 28:7, English Standard Version
God promises to be your shield, your strong tower, your redeemer, your strength. When you don’t think you can go on, when your strength is failing you, let God be your strength. The Apostle Paul acknowledged that when he is weak, God is strong. Where do you need to feel God’s strength today?
