Have you ever been at a crowded event where everyone has a name tag? Those pre-printed sticky white labels that say, “Hello, my name is . . .”? You might even sneak a peek to figure out who someone is because you can’t remember their name.
In Revelation 1:8, Jesus takes care of introducing Himself. And it’s the best introduction in the history of time.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

In Isaiah 44:6 God declares, “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.” The first and the last. Existing before there was time. Transcending time. He knows the beginning, the present, and the future. Which aspect resonates most with you: the God of the past, the present, or the future?
Release other “gods” you chase—security, health, possessions. Acts 4:12 reminds us, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Jesus’ name, above all others, deserves reverence.
Let Jesus’ name be on your lips today.
Dear Lord God…It is such a comfort to my soul to know that You know me. I don’t need to introduce myself to you. And you let me know you, in whatever way my finite mind can handle. And Your son Jesus Christ who is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. The Almighty, the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all. He knows me! He chose me! And it is in his name that I pray this thankful prayer…amen.
