Imagine standing on the edge of the Red Sea, surrounded by desperation and fear as an unstoppable army closes in behind you. Then, in a moment that defies all logic and understanding, the waters part, offering not just an escape but a revelation of divine power. This is exactly what the Israelites experienced—God’s mighty power—leading them to fear the Lord and place their trust in Him, as described in Exodus 14:31:
“Israel saw the great power that the Lord used against the Egyptians, so the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in his servant Moses.”

The parting of the Red Sea was a monumental display of God’s mighty power, but it pales in comparison to the miracle of Jesus’ Resurrection, which offers us eternal life.
The miracles we read about in the Bible are not just historical events. They remind us of God’s ongoing presence and power in our lives. From the majestic beauty of nature to the intricate design of the human body, God’s work surrounds us. It invites us to live in awe and reverence of Him. The Israelites’ journey from fear to faith upon witnessing God’s miracles teaches us the importance of acknowledging His sovereignty and relying on His protection and guidance amidst chaos.
However, like the Israelites, we are prone to forget the miracles God performs in our lives. We often take for granted the countless ways He manifests His mighty power. We fail to give Him the honor and glory He deserves. It’s crucial to pause and reflect on how we’ve seen God work in our lives. Recognize even the most overlooked examples of His power, such as the miracle of life itself.
In response to God’s miraculous deeds, we are called to worship and praise Him, as the Israelites did in Exodus chapter 15. Acknowledging God’s mighty power not only deepens our faith but also transforms how we live. It leads us to worship Him with genuine awe and gratitude.
Dear Father: You are a God of miracles. Thank you for displaying your amazing power. Thank you for the empty tomb. I am in awe. Father, I confess that I sometimes take your marvelous deeds for granted. Please forgive me. Show me your power in a mighty way. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
