Where does your daily strength come from? Do you seek the “living water” of Christ, or fleeting joys of the world? God desires us to have a “root awakening,” to be deeply rooted in Him, like a towering tree drawing life from rich soil.
Colossians 2:7 reminds us:
“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

Just as a vulnerable young tree needs deep roots for stability, so too do we need a strong connection to Christ to weather life’s storms. The Bible compares the Christian life to a tree—strong roots lead to resilience.
God’s forgiveness is boundless. The Bible even says in Hebrews 8:12 that, through the work of Christ, God will remember our sins no more.
But like a loving parent, He desires honesty. Are you hiding from Him or clinging to worldly pursuits?
Being rooted in Christ means a yearning to know Him better, trusting Him even in uncertainty. It’s about continuous growth, like a tiny seedling that becomes a towering tree, offering shade and strength.
Daily nourishment from Christ’s “living water” is essential. Just as a plant desperately seeks water with its roots, we must thirst for His presence.
Paul also compares the spiritual life to a building constantly growing upwards. Christ is the foundation, and we’re continually adding “bricks” on our journey. Our faith strengthens like a growing tree or a rising structure.
The Christian life is about learning and teaching. We are eternally grateful for God’s rescue, overflowing with thankfulness.
Father, thank You for reminding me how wonderful You are—and how blessed I am. God, I want to be deeply rooted in You, always thirsting for Your presence. I want to grow stronger each day, prepared for the storms of life. Grow in me a root awakening so that I become who You want me to be. Draw me closer to You. It’s in Christ’s name that I pray. Amen.
